The beautiful gated community of Lake St. Clair is located off of Interstate 75 in Apollo Beach, Florida, nestled right in between the communities of Covington Park and Waterset. The homes in this community surround the 58-acre Lake St. Clair. Lake St. Clair, the neighborhood, provides residents with the opportunities to go boating, fishing, and kayaking in their very own backyard. The beach may be a good ten minutes away, but residents still get to enjoy a waterfront experience with the incredible lake. When they would rather see the ocean, all they need to do is take a short drive down the road and they can be on the shores of Tampa Bay.
Lake St. Clair is home to 176 different homes on lots reaching up to one-half-acre, maybe even more. The homes here are beautifully landscaped with tropical trees and palms on the front lawns. Many of them are three-to-four bedroom single-family homes with large back yards to play in. If there is not a swimming pool already installed in the backyard, there is most likely more than enough space for one to be built. If you prefer the open space over the pool, use the large backyard as a play area for the family. Host cookouts and go camping in your backyard. Inside, most of the homes have tile and laminate flooring. The living rooms and family rooms are very spacious. There is more than enough room to move around in the homes with open floor plans and vaulted ceilings. Every home on the market has a built-in lanai, and some are even enclosed with air conditioning letting homeowners enjoy an impeccable waterfront view while also staying cool during the summer.
When it comes to having fun outdoors, the lake provides plenty of opportunity, but that’s not the only place you’ll find it. Bullfrog Creek Mitigation Park has loads of wildlife, walking trails, and more for families and children to catch some fresh air while bird watching or hiking. Another great place nearby is the community of Waterset. Waterset is packed full of walking trails, parks, playgrounds, ponds, and so much more. The active community has its own café that will make you want to visit every day. The community is known for its active and thriving lifestyle. You will find residents walking up and down the winding trails, jogging, riding bikes, and more! Children will be outside playing on the playgrounds, and locals will be at the café grabbing a delicious bite to eat with their friends.
Lake St. Clair is right next to this community, so residents can head over and meet with friends for a fun or relaxing afternoon outdoors in a safe neighborhood. If you prefer to get your exercise indoors, take advantage of the neighborhood fitness center or the South County YMCA. The fitness center is a great way to get back in or stay in shape in the comfort of your own neighborhood. If you prefer to drive elsewhere, try the YMCA. They always have great programs and classes for all ages to enjoy. The Bowling Alley at South Shore is the perfect place to go for a night out with family and friends. Cosmic bowling and laser mazes are only half of the fun, and kids eat free on Tuesdays! Bring the kids in to let all of their energy out chasing each other around, or come and build your bowling skills. Enjoy the family-fun atmosphere, snacks, and entertainment before heading back home to Lake St. Clair.
St. Joseph’s Hospital South is located right down the street, as well as grocery stores like Sam’s Club and Walmart. In this area, you’ll also find plenty of dining options like Applebee’s, East Coast Pizza, Panera, Little Habana Café, and Buffalo Wild Wings. Little Habana Café serves authentic and absolutely delicious Cuban and Spanish food. The work ethic of the servers is amazing as they all work together to ensure every customer is taken care of. The food and service are both outstanding. Some favorites are fried plantains, Cuban sandwich, and black beans and rice. The portions are large and filling. The perfect way to end your meal is with a nice hot Café con Leche. East Coast Pizza serves a variety of foods like ravioli, pizza, chicken, fries, salad, calzones and more! Add this stop onto your family-fun night for a delicious family-friendly dinner!
Lake St. Clair is a wonderful place to raise a family. Schools are close in proximity, lakes and parks are within your very own community, and shopping and dining opportunities are right around the corner. Tampa is half an hour away with tons of museums and amusement parks for weekend getaways, and a wide variety of beaches are available for swimming, boating, surfing, and more.

"We are out-of-state buyers, moving to the area. We had very little knowledge of the area, or of the home buying process. Mr. Simpkins spent months working with us via e-mail, answering our myriad of questions and offering us invaluable advice about what to look for in our potential new home. Once we narrowed down our search, we made arrangements to fly down for one weekend, as that was all that our work schedules would allow. It seemed an impossible thing to pull off in one weekend, but he was totally prepared for us. We looked at 23 homes, IN ONE DAY!! Yes, 23!! He had printed each of the listings we had selected, and had checklists and spaces for notes and questions on the back of each one. We had all planned for a twelve hour day of marathon home showings. We finished in 8 hours! We made an offer on our favorite home that evening, and we accepted a counter-offer the next day at noon!
Mr. Simpkins was absolutely amazing to us throughout the entire process! He was extremely professional, yet always personal. He was responsive and always accessible, even at very odd hours! He made what could have been the overwhelmingly daunting task of buying a new home nearly seamless!
Not only would we recommend Mr. Simpkins to others, we have already done so, several times! He is, quite simply, THE BEST!!"
